Boston Business Journal Names Applause a Best Place to Work

Late last week Boston Business Journal unveiled Applause as one of its best places to work in Massachusetts.

This recognition is a testament to the team and culture at Applause. We strive to build a collaborative and fun environment, and this award shows that our team members appreciate this approach. Applause was also listed on the Boston Globe’s list of top workplaces in November.

It’s not hard to see what sets Applause apart from other companies. For one, we always recognize and celebrate success at Applause. The biggest and most formal way we do so is with our uRock Awards. Each quarter, two members of the team are recognized for their hard work and achievement, receiving $5,000 as a thank you.

We also celebrate each other’s successes at Applause and all of Applause Nation is considered family…it’s why we send an Applause onesie and a $100 Amazon gift card to every new parent. It’s our way of welcoming new members into the Applause family.

We also consider our surrounding community part of this family, and we volunteer to help out in the area at every chance we get. Members of Applause Nation donate their time to serve food to those most in need at the local Pearl Street Café throughout the year. Many of the activities we undertake are in partnership with the United Way of Tri-County and the energy of our team has led to United Way recognizing Applause as a leader in the area, awarding Applause with two honors: the Good Neighbor Award in 2018 and a Shining Stars Award in 2019.

Some of the charitable activities we participate in with United Way include:

  • The annual Tools for School backpack and supply drive for local students
  • Thanksgiving food drive where our donations went to feed hundreds of people in need
  • Hope for the Holidays where we raised tens of thousands of dollars to buy gifts for local children

Applause also hosted a blood drive and Be the Match signup to benefit Mass-based hospitals and programs. Many companies pledge to be a positive force in their communities, but Applause actually follows through. It’s just one of the many reasons team members love to work at Applause.

Boston Business Journal will recognize this year’s 79 honorees during its annual Best Places to Work event on June 19 in Boston.

In addition, the BBJ will feature the honorees in a special section of its June 21st edition.
