How Messaging Innovator SoChat Enables Agile Development With Crowdtesting

Harvard Graduate Lukens Orthwein founded SoChat, a San Francisco-based mobile messaging company, in 2014. Its mission in this hyper-connected world is to accelerate the United States into the modern age of messaging. SoChat’s app considers every level of every type of digital interaction and how it might be used. A person can use SoChat to add phone numbers, use the location feature to find friends nearby and utilize Bluetooth to find out who else in the room has the app.

Focusing on the indefatigable demographic of tech savvy young adults between 12 and 30 years old. SoChat users not only require the app to work flawlessly, but demand the app delivers something unique, above and beyond normal expectations. SoChat is able to do this by maintaining a rapid release schedule and quickly turning around improvements based on customer feedback.

SoChat has a small QA team, as do most startup companies. This creates a bottleneck when releasing product updates and new features at the pace SoChat requires. SoChat needed QA help that could fit into its agile development workflow and support its aggressive timelines.

Watch Orthwein, CEO and cofounder of SoChat, explain why he chose to partner with Applause to ensure every release of the messaging app would function exactly as designed, regardless of device or location.
