Rob Mason is a seasoned technology leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning software development, engineering leadership and large-scale systems design. A meticulous builder and obsessive tester, Rob is known for driving the development of innovative, robust software and for making lasting contributions to complex client engagements.
During his tenure as chief technology officer with Applause, Rob led high-performing teams responsible for delivering mission-critical platforms and advancing modern testing practices across the organization. His leadership helped shape both the company’s technology foundation and its approach to digital quality at scale.
Previously, Rob founded and served as executive vice president of engineering with Nasuni, where he guided the company from initial product concept to a global file system managing more than 10 petabytes of storage and billions of files. Earlier in his career, he oversaw all development and quality assurance as vice president of engineering withArchivas.
Rob holds more than 30 patents, including several in the field of test automation. An active industry thought leader, he regularly contributes insights on functional testing, agentic AI, digital accessibility and related topics. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA with honors from Rutgers University. Rob lives on a horse farm in Massachusetts with his wife.
