What You Missed at Day Two of DigitalXChange ‘18
Day one of DigitalXChange set a high bar for the event. The keynote customer panel featuring speakers from CNN, Michael Kors, and Microsoft provided insight into how the world’s leading companies use Applause. During the breakout sessions, brands like The Wall Street Journal, LEGO, and Audible explored some of today’s top tech topics. Casey Neistat wowed the audience in his closing keynote, bringing his signature energy and creativity to the stage in a presentation only he could deliver. And that was only part of the action at day one. View the full recap here.
Day two more than kept up with the pace set by the opening of DigitalXChange. Rana el Kaliouby, co-founder and CEO of Affectiva, kicked things off with an excellent keynote presentation. Rana dove into the topic of emotional artificial intelligence (Emotion AI), explaining how it could improve businesses’ ad campaigns, help doctors measure patients’ emotional states, or even reduce hiring biases. She even showed how Affectiva’s Emotion AI platform works after inviting an audience member up on stage to participate in a live demo.
The breakout sessions continued with the trend of excitement and innovative technology. Voicebot.ai’s founder Bret Kinsella moderated a session where experts in voice explained key issues preventing broader adoption of voice and AI platforms, and provided insight into how businesses can get past these roadblocks.
Attendees gained insight into the future of Applause’s solutions and how to get the most out of crowd testing in some of the day two sessions. First, Applause’s VP of community strategy and operations, Mark Holland, and SVP of engineering, Rob Mason, discussed what’s coming next for the core testing platform and the capabilities of the community. Later in the day, Applause’s director of automation delivery, Drew Horn, joined Sauce Labs’ VP of business development for a presentation about how to balance manual and automated testing, providing tips for how to scale automation successfully over time.
In one of the final presentations, I joined Realtor.com’s Chris Taclas to discuss his company’s new augmented reality features – Sign Snap and Street Peek – and how AR is set to revolutionize the house hunting experience for home buyers and sellers.
That’s a wrap on DigitalXChange ‘18! Thanks to everyone who came out to the Revere Hotel to see it all in action, and to those who followed along on the blog and on Twitter and LinkedIn.
