How HomeMe Uses Crowdsourcing To Supplement Its Internal QA Team

We have very rapid cycles so I needed to extend my team

Los Angeles-based startup HomeMe is on a mission to make the renter’s life easy. More often than not, when a person views a perspective property they must fill out an application, have a background check run, receive credit approval and have references called … on each property they are interested in.

The tedious process may not even result in the renter getting the property they want. The paperwork checks out and ticks all the boxes, but then the property manager could select another candidate.

HomeMe streamlines this long-standing (and broken) process by working directly with property management companies to pre-approve renters before they visit the property. At the same time, HomeMe also offers recommendations for rental properties based on location and income, providing its customers with a refreshingly easy rental experience.

A start-up with limited resources, HomeMe needed to expand its mobile device coverage to ensure renters would receive a flawless digital experience, irrespective of device.

Watch how HomeMe’s former director of QA Priyanka Halder, leverages Applause’s community of 300,000+ testers to ensure its app functions as designed prior to every release.
