Applause Helps Bring Cheer with United Way’s Hope for the Holidays

This quote, commonly attributed to Winston Churchill, defines the backbone of charity. It is a call to action; a reminder to put others before ourselves.

This message can sometimes get lost in our daily routines. However, at Applause, our employees continually think of those in our community that are in need. Throughout this year, employees served meals to individuals and families at the Pearl Street Café, donated backpacks at the start of the school year, and sponsored a canned food drive during Thanksgiving.

We knew we wanted to go above and beyond this holiday season. We chose to donate our time and resources by participating in the United Way’s Hope for the Holidays Program.

This year, for our annual holiday giving program, we created Holiday Giving Teams. After assigning captains, each team got creative in order to bring cheer to the most kids possible. One team reached out to all the Boston sports teams and received baseball hats and wristbands from the Boston Red Sox and player cards from the New England Revolution!

We are honored to participate in United Way’s incredible mission to give hope to children and families who are struggling this holiday season in our local community. In total, we raised more than $8,500 and were able to spread the magic to more than 85 children.

Our goal is to come together and make a lasting impact on our community. We are proud to partner our efforts with the United Way Tri-County. If you’d like to spread some holiday magic to your community, please consider donating to United Way’s cause at https://www.uwotc.org/hope.
